Happy Holidays Everyone!

Hi Room 7 - I just want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday. I'm hoping some of you might get a chance to check out our blog over the holidays. Thankyou to Zoe for all your wonderful comments recently!

Also a special thankyou to Chloe T and Kyle for the lovely surprise at my door at the weekend. The flowers were gorgeous! (I am very spoilt)

Make sure you relax and enjoy your break from school - you deserve it. Everyone worked extremely hard this term and I am very proud of you all.
See you next term...
Miss Rxx
PS: Term 4 is going to be very busy too so watch out!

MASSIVE

Colgate Smiles

The dental nurse is at our school at the moment. Quite a few pupils in our class have had to visit her recently and some children have even had to have FILLINGS!
Luken, Kyle and Russell are trying hard to prevent plaque from forming on their teeth.
Hannah, Zoe and Jessica are hoping they don't have any cavities in their teeth this term.
After morning tea each day for 2 weeks we are taking time to clean our teeth together and go over ways to brush properly. It is so important to look after our teeth and get into good habits such as:
*cutting down on sugary foods
*brusing at least twice a day
*using dental floss
*brushing our tongues

Jonty, Hunter and Josh are making sure they brush the back teeth as carefully as the front teeth.
It is important to brush our gums as well to prevent gum disease. You should brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes each time.
We found a great website called www.colgate.com which has lots of games and tips on dental hygiene. Check it out...

Mr Loder visits

On Thursday 6 of September Mr Loder came to our class to talk about Talleys and how the system works .We asked some questions that we didn't know like how many boats are there?
..and after working there 21 years are you used to the smell?. But no, he was not used to the smell of Talleys!

Then he gave us some pamphlets about there ice cream, seafood and where it goes and comes from. Some of their fishing boats go all the way to Antarctica for 5 weeks away from their families .

Cross Country

On Friday the 31st of August our school went down to the Goodman Reserve to do some cross country .The 10yr and ups had to run 2 whole laps and around the pond .They were so tired after they finished their race. Some people only ran around the pond and straight to the finish. It was a big day for us when we ran. Miss Dowell was the person that said '' On your marks, Get set ,Go".

Everybody tried their best to go to Rabbit Island to race all the different schools .The people that came 1st to 5th are going to race all different schools later on in the term. Some people ran like the wind to come first and go to Rabbit Island to race schools like Lower Moutere and schools like that!
After some peoples games they were so hot that they got their drink bottle and put it all over their faces so they were not hot !But everyone tried their best at running !
Here is Mac receiving his prize for 1st= place in the 8 and 9 yr old boys section. he came first with Hunter.
